From Cathedral YCW, Glenhuntly, he was one of Richmond's
famous Three Musketeers backline of the 1930's. Bolger played
many fine games alongside full-back Maurie Sheahan and Kevin
O'Neill. Bolger was exremely consistant and a real dasher minding
the resting rovers. He played in the 1932 and 1934 flag sides.
Bolger, the Tigers' best and fairest in 1936, later served on the
Richmond committee for more than 30 years.
