Organisations listed under Schedule I of the Control of Weapons
(Swords) (Amendments) Regulations 2003 (Victoria), commencing July
1st 2004, as organisations that will be given blanket Govenor in
Council exemptions, which is extended to their members, to possess
and use swords.
Those organisations are as follows:-

It should be noted that the organisations in bold font, are
independent Victorian groups who also have firearms as their primary
interest.
General Exemption Orders apply for members of the following
groups and organisations:
o People who use swords for religious or cultural reasons
o Museums, galleries and groups using swords for theatrical
performance
o Tai Chi and Kendo practitioners
o Legitimate sword collectors
o People with one or two swords as heirlooms
o Serving and former military officers and the Returned
and Services League
o Historical re-enactment groups
o Highland sword dancers, including highland dance schools,
their students
o Fencers
